I love where we live!

David took these pictures one morning back in January. I never want to take for granted the beauty that surrounds us each day. It is just spectactular and makes me feel so happy.

Red Dinner

On Valentine's Day, we always have a "Red Dinner". It is a little tradition my mom started long ago. We use a lot of red dye, but it sure is fun. We also have cherry cheesecake for dessert, which we did not get a picture of. ( I forgot to dye the butter for the rolls and the spaghetti doesn't look as red as it really was!)
I think somebody in our family really enjoyed this meal!!

If only he could eat like this every night!

Oh The Things We Do...

...On These Long Winter Days! David told Adam that we were going to the beach, and got him all excited. So, Adam ran upstairs and told me he was packing his bag for the beach! He started grabbing all of his swim gear. I knew this cruel joke had gone too far, so I told David he had to let Adam know the truth, that we were really NOT going to the beach. This did not go over well with Adam, so we ended up making our own beach party in the tub!
It ended up being a lot of fun and we have done it multiple times now.

I have also attempted to start running again! The boys are such good sports. On the really cold and snowy days, we run on an indoor track, but on other days we bundle up and go outside.

MOTORCYCLE VILLIAGE
So one day we got really creative. We made a road for Adam's motorcycles and "trains".

First stop: The farm and the country. Jumps along the way included.

STOP! Construction Zone right before the tunnel going into the city.

The River and Zoo. You had to take a Ferry to get across.

And finally, the city!
Okay, Okay, so maybe this was more for me than for Adam, because I think I spent more time keeping him away from destroying it than just letting him enjoy it and play. Once the pictures were taken though, I decided to just just let him have at it, even if Daddy didn't get to see it before he came home from work:) I must say, I was quite proud of my work though.
Once David saw the pictures, he wanted to create something too. So, he made a motorcycle jump for Adam.

I think Adam was much more impressed with this. H/H! Oh well, what can you do?

Jones Jingle Jog 2010

The second annual Jones Jingle Jog was held at an indoor track. This made for some serious competition. It's a good thing the track wasn't that busy, because we had quite the group with matching headbands and all!
Here is the gang before we got started.

Brandon hasn't quite gotten that competitive edge yet:)

I don't think these two have either... H/H!

AND THEY'RE OFF...Jordan and Amber planned the event this year and decided to to a relay, since we were on a track. We did boys against girls and each leg ran either a 200 or 400 meter.

The girls got off to a great start...

...and despite what it appears, I think the girls still won!!

After the relay, we all enjoyed the exercise and time together.

Adam actually did a quarter of a mile! He ran two times around the track without stopping. I was pretty impressed.

All the kids got to run through the tunnel and of course there were awards...

It was a fun day. Jordan and Amber prepared "racing bags" that had treats in it for after the run.

I think this is such a fun tradition my parents started last year. It is neat to see everyone be involved in some way and it is a great way to be active after all that holiday food! Even members of our family who couldn't be there, did something to be a part.

Brandon's Baby Blessing

Brandon was blessed at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in December. He was blessed by David. We had so much love and support from our family. It really was a wonderful day. We came back to our house and had soups, salads, rolls, and dessert. It was delicious.

Once all the pictures were done, Brandon conked out at his own party! He pretty much slept the entire time even with all the noise around.
We are so grateful to have Brandon in our family!
